The film displays the tedium and the turmoil these fishermen experience on a typical day, monotonously retreiving skate from gill nets and dealing with equipment malfunctions. The film provides the audience with observations open to interpretation, only providing them with context after their relation to the subject is established. As we race faster into industrial global economies, what becomes of the old communities on the brink of collapse, and how do we regard them?
